Wednesday Wynn aims to provide information about Heart and Lung Transplant. We aim to provide practical ways of taking care of yourself and promoting wellness, especially after going through a difficult experience like illness or surgery. As I went through my own personal journey, I learned that there is a chance for growth and positive change.
FOREVER GRATEFUL TO MY HEART TRANSPLANT DONOR
Who Is Wednesday Wynn?
Wednesday is the name given to my transplanted heart after I received my first and hopefully last Heart Transplant. I wanted to welcome her into my mind, body and spirit. I symbolically and joyously welcomed Wednesday into my life, my family and my home. It is a way of honouring the extraordinary gift of life I received from my donor and their brave and compassionate family.
By receiving my brave new heart, Wednesday, I feel that I have reached the peak of most of my challenges. I am finally on the road to recovery instead of being terminal and requiring palliative care. Despite the benefits and risks of having a heart transplant, the complications and the side effects of the anti rejection medication, I will always tell you it was worth it. Yes, I rolled the dice. I am alive and spending time with my nearest and dearest. I will forever be grateful to Wednesday and their family.
Steve and I are married. We have two daughters Georgia and Tea’Rose. We all live together with our black and white Border Collie, Winnie in the Blue Mountains, west of Sydney, NSW, Australia. I am supported by a network of glorious family and friends who have held my hand, visited me in hospital, driven me to appointments and shown me infinite love and support in a variety of ways. When I count my blessings I count you all twice.
It is important to acknowledge the amazing support and profound expertise and professionalism of all staff at ST Vincent’s Hospital, St Vincent’s Private Hospital, Westmead Public Hospital in Cardiac Care, Westmead Private Hospital, Norwest Private Hospital, Nepean Hospital, Sydney Eye Hospital, Katoomba / Blue Mountains District ANZAC Memorial Hospital and Westmead Hospital Breast Care Institute. Yes I have been spending the last 24 months in hospitals after 12 surgeries, multiple surgical procedures and scans. I was lucky to be referred to the best of the best. I am alive today because of their unwavering care, thank you.

Trauma to Transformation
Moving through trauma, I have discovered there is an opportunity for transformation. As I am unable to work as a Deputy Principal, I needed to transform or reinvent myself. My ultimate goal is to self publish a series of Children’s books called Sage’s Escapades.
I decided to begin this Blog to provide support and solidarity with you and / or your family who are impacted by any of the medical conditions included in this blog. This is my personal journey.
You are advised to seek your own professional advice as I am not a medical practitioner, counsellor, or legal expert. I hope you find the information relevant and helpful. The content is to Enlighten, Entertain and Empower. I hope you are encouraged to continue to fight for your greatest asset, your health.
Love and light
